International Federation of Hard of Hearing People

IFHOH is registered as a charitable organization at Vereinsregister Amtsgericht Hamburg, Germany (Nr. 69 VR 10 527) and is also an International Non-Governmental Organization having special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It also works closely with the World Health Organization, having agreed a two-year joint work programme for developing countries with the Prevention of Blindness and Deafness section of that Organization.

The International Federation of Hard of Hearing People consists of National Associations of and for hard of hearing and late deafened people, and parents' and professional organizations. The board members of IFHOH carry out their work on a voluntary basis.

We are working to help non-member countries develop consumer based organizations which can provide leadership for their people with hearing loss. Let us know how we can help your country, or how you or your country's organization can help us in our work.

IFHOH publishes a small magazine, called IFHOH Journal, three times a year.
