Summer Camp (Rough Guide)

Summer camps are usually held in July for 10 to 12 days.

All IFHOHYP member countries are invited, other countries that are not members are also welcome to participate in the summer camp.

There are usually about 50 to 100 participants and 20 members from the host country. The leaders are usually in numbers of 5 to 10 people. The host country is responsible for the camp and the leaders usually come from the host country.

Remember To
  • Start preparations about 3 years in advance.
  • Distribute information about the summer camp at the AGM, the IFHOHYP web page and through the newsletter.
The way of raising money differs from country to country so it is impossible to make any rules or guidelines.

  • National youth organisation
  • Lions club
  • National and Local Sponsors & Foundations Rotary
You can always try to apply for funds from the European Youth Foundation. Usually some conditions need to be fulfilled in order to obtain the needed funds.

Other Things To Think About
Address lists or e-mail lists of contact persons in the member countries to send the information to so that they can distribute this important information on to their members.

Contact someone with experience from arranging summer camps so that he or she can advise and perhaps guide you on how to make the preparations, how to raise money and tell you about summer camp traditions.
